Mr. Charles Arroyo

Lorain- Charles Arroyo, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 09, 2011 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain, OH.

 He was born in Lorain, OH on October 13, 1926 to his loving parents, Jesse and Carmen (nee: Salas) Arroyo.

 Charles enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1945, during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned home to finish his last year of high school and graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1947 B. Following high school, he was accepted into the Ohio State University, where he majored in Business. He returned to Lorain, OH and was married on November 17, 1951 to Joan (nee: Letizia).

Charles was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua of Lorain, OH, the Knights of St. Johns, the VFW in Lorain, OH and the Holy Name Mens Club where he was named "Man of the Year" in 2003. He retired from BF Goodrich after 29 years and enjoyed spending his time woodworking and his summer home on Kelleys Island. He was a very compassionate, wonderful man.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years of marriage, Joan Arroyo of Lorain, OH; sons, David Arroyo of Lorain, OH, Dean (Sharon) Arroyo of Lorain, OH; and Dan (Laurie) Arroyo of Elyria, OH; brothers, Ed (DeeDee) and Joe Arroyo; sisters, Mary (Harvey) Beck and Theresa Roberts; grandchildren, Amy, Nathan, Samantha, Matt, Kyle and Abbie Arroyo; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Carmen Arroyo; brothers, Jesse Jr. and Phillip Arroyo; and sister, Amelia.

Mr. David William Wildman

Lorain- David William Wildman, 56, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his home in Lorain, OH.

He was born in Sandusky, OH on November 23, 1954 to his loving parents, Graham Ben Sr. and Lois Jean (nee: Albin) Wildman. David lived most of his life in Lorain, OH.

He graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1973. David worked for Ohio Vending in Elyria for ten years and the Ford Plant in Avon.

He was a member of the VFW Post 8686 and was active in the Mens Auxiliary. David enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, woodworking and DJ work.

He is survived by his brother, Graham Ben Wildman Jr. of North Ridgeville, OH; sister, December (R. Jerry) Harris of Burnsville, N.C.; brother, Richard Dean (Kathy) Wildman of Lorain, OH; adopted sister, Gay  (Mark) Law; and nephews, Timothy Roy Young and Jack Thomas Young.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cynthia (nee: Carballada) Wildman; mother, Lois Jean Wildman and his father, Graham Ben Wildman Sr.

Mr. Michael C. Sechkar

Cleveland- Michael C. Sechkar, 57, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at his home in Cleveland, OH.

He was born on December 7, 1953 in Austin, TX to his loving parents, Fred C. and Mildred E.Mim Sechkar.

Michael graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain, OH, Class of 1972 and earned his Associate degree from Lorain County Community College. He was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his parents, Fred and Mildred (nee: Naidenoff) Sechkar; and brothers, Edward and Joseph (wife-Mikki) Sechkar.

Jeanne Krenek

Lorain- Jeanne (nee: Doyle) Krenek, 79, was taken by Jesus on Monday, September 26, 2011 after a long illness to join her parents, Charles and Evah (nee: Gfell) Doyle and brother, James Doyle. She died at home in peace surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne is survived by three daughters, Jill Krenek, Jacqui Ladikos and Susie Krenek; brother, Robert Doyle; and nine grandchildren.

Jeanne was born in Lorain, OH and lived there most of her life. She earned her associate degree in secretarial Science at Lorain County Community College in 1974. She retired from Lorain County Transit Board where her duties included Administration Executive secretary and financial operations. Jeanne was best known for her contribution to the skating world. She began skating at the age of two and continued teaching into her early seventies. Jeanne was known on a local, national and international level. She had 14 national champions as well as numerous local and state titles. Her adventurous spirit and good nature did not fade as years progressed. There was not a rollercoaster that she would not ride even in her seventies. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her legacy will be that age is just a number and nothing is impossible.

Dr. James Blake Patterson

Lorain- James Blake Patterson 80,, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, OH after a brief illness.

He was born August 27, 1931 in Lorain, OH to Dr. F.R.C. Patterson and Ann (nee: MacKerrow) Patterson.

Jim graduated in 1949 from St. Mary's High School where he was senior class president. He graduated in 1953 from the University of Notre Dame and 1957 from Stritch Loyola School of Medicine. Jim honorably served with the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves, retiring after 25 years with the rank of Commander. He volunteered his service in Vietnam and in recent years he went to the Dominican Republic to help meet the medical needs. Dr. Patterson was a member of the staff of St. Joseph Hospital where he served as chief of obstetrics and president of the medical staff and also President of Mercy Regional Medial Staff. He was a Rotarian and served as past president of Rotary. Currently, he was president of the Senior Fellowship Club and member of the Parish Council of St. Anthony of Padua. Dr. continued to serve his community by volunteering his medical service to the Lorain Free Clinic.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years of marriage, Mary Carole (nee: Little) Patterson; sons, Robert of Niceville, FL, Bartholomew of Cleveland, OH and  Zachary at home; daughter,  Mary (Dan) Celeste Fessler of North Olmsted, OH; grandchildren, Matthew Patterson, Hillary Patterson of Alabama and Abigail Fessler and Brady Fessler of North Olmsted, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents F.R.C. and Ann Patterson.

Miss Angelique Aiken (White)

North Ridgeville- Angelique Aiken (White), 19, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at her home in North Ridgeville, OH.

 

Angelique was born in Jacksonville, FL on March 13, 1992.

 

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Lorain. Angelique lived in Lorain for sixteen years and graduated from St. Anthony of Padua and attended Southview High School for two years. She lived in North Ridgeville, OH and attended one year at North Ridgeville High School. She enjoyed watching movies and loved spending time with her family.

 

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Pedro White.

 

She is survived by her loving parents, Terry and Wendy Kushinski of Lorain, OH; brothers, Joshua White, Jordan White, Bryce Kushinski, Jamie Kushinski and Noah Kushinski all of Lorain, OH; grandparents, Anthony and Bernie; grandmother, Diana White; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Lisa M. Dovala

Amherst- Lisa (nee: Hambly) Dovala, 52, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland, OH surrounded by her loving family.

 

Lisa was born on October 5, 1958 in Lorain, OH to her loving parents, Jerry and Joyce.

 

She graduated from Admiral King High School, Class of 1977. Lisa worked most of her life as a Title Examiner. She started her career working for Lorain County Title Company and later worked for Chicago Title Company before starting her own business, Dovala Exams. Lisa was a very loving and generous person. She loved to have fun and she could tell a good joke. Lisa enjoyed camping, she had a very compassionate heart for animals and she loved her family.

 

She is preceded in death by her uncle, Al Hribar; and grandmother, Elizabeth Sulkoski.

 

She is survived by her son, Matthew (Janel) Dovala; daughter, Gabrielle Torres; mother, Joyce (nee: Hribar) Hambly; father, Jerry Hambly; sisters, Holly Ralich, Jill (Jim) Budzilek; Dawn (David) Johnson; brothers, Craig (Denise) Hambly and Tim (Kim) Hambly; fiancé, David Daugherty; and many nieces and nephews.

Lorain- Mary C. Conser (nee:Coleman), 83, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, OH.

 

Mary was born on June 2, 1928 in Charleston, WV to her loving parents, Claude and Lorretta Coleman. She graduated from Walton High School and received her B.A. in Library Science from Glenville State College. Mary moved to Lorain, OH in 1951 and worked as a Librarian with the Lorain Public Library for 48 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Loretta Coleman.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years of marriage, Russell L. Conser of Lorain, OH; and her loving sister, Claudena Dena (John) Kingery of Walton, W.V.

Lorain- Mary (nee: Letizia) Yager, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, OH.

                                                                            

Mary was born on August 16, 1921 in Lorain, OH to her loving parents, Antonio and Josephine (nee: Ventrone) Letizia.

 

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and the Italian American Veterans Post #1 in Lorain, OH. Mary was married on October 5, 1946 to Alexander J. Yager. Mary enjoyed baking wedding cakes, ceramics, dancing, singing and spending time with family and friends.

 

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Jill Cook) Yager of Lorain, OH and Rick Yager of Lorain, OH; sisters Mickey Foos of Sandusky, OH and Joan Arroyo of Lorain, OH; granddaughter, Mallory Walsh of North Ridgeville, OH; grandsons, Andy Yager of Green Bay, WI and Adam Yager of Lorain, OH; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years of marriage, Alex Yager; sisters, Ann Beko, Molly Bratton and Josephine Letizia; and brother, James Letizia.

 

Christian burial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Calvary Cemetery, 555 N. Ridge Rd. W., Lorain, OH (meet at main entrance of cemetery), Fr. Mr. Anthony G. DeLuca

Lorain- Anthony G. Tony DeLuca, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

 

Tony was born on January 2, 1930 in Lorain, OH to his loving parents, Luigi and Raffaela DeLuca.

 

He graduated from Lorain High School and entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tony was married on September 29, 1961 to his beloved, Joan (nee: Ciriaco). He was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Parish and a Lifetime member of the IAV Post #1 in Lorain, OH. He worked for Baldo Campana Concrete and Ceja Concrete. Tony was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends.   

 

He is survived by his wife, Joan of Lorain, OH; daughter, Michael Ann DeLuca of Lorain, OH; son, Anthony (Mary) DeLuca of Wexford, PA;  sister, Jean (Ettore) Januzzi of Amherst, OH; grandsons, TJ and Domenic DeLuca; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luigi and Raffaela DeLuca.
