The world is a better place because of Dr. Jim. My family has been blessed to have been cared for by such a kind, compassionate, empathetic, and loving man. Mary Carole, Bart and Mary (and Zachary and Robert who I only know through your father's wonderful stories), our thoughts and prayers are with you even though we can't be there in person. Dr. Jim will be missed, but how wonderful that we knew him. Nan, Marty, Jim, Meghan, and Michael Mahony

I am very sorry to learn of the passing of Jim. I am George Ferguson and Betty Ferguson's brother. They both went to school with him. George was in his class and Betty was a few years behind. I knew Jim initially through them as we all went to St. Mary's school and Notre Dame. (Betty went to St. Marys College in South Bend, IN.) Later in life I was in the Lorain Rotary Club with Jim for about 8 years and in the Notre Dame Alumni Club with him and got to know him much better. He was a very intelligent, humorous and giving person. The religious, civic, medical and general community will be a bit weaker for the loss of Jim. But, I am sure heaven will be much stronger now that he has joined them.
