Mr. Anthony G. DeLuca

Lorain- Anthony G. Tony DeLuca, 81, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

 

Tony was born on January 2, 1930 in Lorain, OH to his loving parents, Luigi and Raffaela DeLuca.

 

He graduated from Lorain High School and entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tony was married on September 29, 1961 to his beloved, Joan (nee: Ciriaco). He was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Parish and a Lifetime member of the IAV Post #1 in Lorain, OH. He worked for Baldo Campana Concrete and Ceja Concrete. Tony was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends.   

 

He is survived by his wife, Joan of Lorain, OH; daughter, Michael Ann DeLuca of Lorain, OH; son, Anthony (Mary) DeLuca of Wexford, PA;  sister, Jean (Ettore) Januzzi of Amherst, OH; grandsons, TJ and Domenic DeLuca; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luigi and Raffaela DeLuca.

 
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Sunday, September, 11, 2011 from 4-8 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Nativity B.V.M. Parish, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain, OH Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where military honors will be conducted by the Italian American Veterans Post #1. Memorial donations may be made to  Nativity B.V.M. Parish Building Fund, 418 West 15th St, Lorain, OH 44052. Online condolences may be sent using www.rsgfuneralhome.com

My condolences to the DeLuca Family. I have very fond memories of Mr. DeLuca from my high school days. I can remember every time I came over to hang out with Tony I was very enthusiastically offered a refreshment and the sports page. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with you all.
