Mrs. Elizabeth A. Woolford

Lorain- Elizabeth A. "Betty" Woolford (nee: Tudich), 82, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

She was born November 8, 1929 in Lorain, OH to her loving parents, Paul and Marcella (nee: Facsko) Tudich and she was a lifelong resident of Lorain. Betty graduated from Lorain High School. She was married on February 14, 1948 to her loving husband, Everett A. Woolford Sr. and they raised two children together. She worked for Joseph & Feiss Co. as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Johns Church in Lorain, OH and she enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Dee Marsico of Elyria, OH; brother, Paul Tudich of Spikane, WA;  grandchildren, Dan Marsico and Dana Woolford; great-grandchildren, Vincenzo, Gianna and Vittorio Marsico; and nieces and nephews, Phillip Paula, Vosi, Bill, Debbie, Roger and Toni.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marcella Tudich; husband, Ed Woolford Sr.; son, Ed Woolford Jr.; brothers, John and William Bill Tudich.

Lorain- Kenneth J. Schwarz, 58, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.

 

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (nee: Sposato) Schwarz; son, Kenneth C. (Denia) Schwarz; and grandson, Kenneth J. Schwarz.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Schwarz; and his siblings, Roger Schwarz and Gloria Kudlo.

Mr. James R. Howard

Avon- James R. Howard, 79, passed away aftera short illness on Friday, October 28th, 2011 at St. Johns Medical Center in Westlake, OH.

James was born July 3rd, 1932 in Lorain, OH to his parents, James J. & Victoria M. (nee:  Dombrowski) Howard.

He was married May 12, 1957 to Jacqueline B. (nee Skrepich) for 53 years before she preceded him in death. 

Preceded in death also were his parents & sister, Beverly Rognstad.   

He is survived by his son, James R. Howard II of Sheffield Lake, OH; daughter, Renee L. (Howard) Woods of Caledonia, MI; & granddaughter, Jennifer N. Woods of Harrisburg, PA. 

James served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. After marriage he relocated to Sheffield Lake, OH. He was employed as a riveter at Fruehauf Trailer in Avon Lake, OH & also a laborer at US Steel in Lorain, OH. 

Christian burial service to be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 3700 Center Rd., Avon, OH 44011 (please meet at the A-Frame Chapel at cemetery), Father Stephen L. Mr. Henry S. Lewandowski

 

Lorain- Henry S. Lewandowski, 72, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain, OH. Taking leave of this world, he embarks on his journey into the next in the presence of those who loved him and whom he loved so dearly.

 

Henry was born November 15, 1938 in Buffalo, NY to his loving parents, Henry A. and Helen (nee: Nadolski) Lewandowski and moved to Lorain, OH in 1962.

 

In 1956 he enlisted in the United States Army and he was honorably discharged in 1959. He returned home during his services to marry his loving bride, Marcia A. Lewandowski on May 17, 1958. Henry was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Parish in Lorain, OH and he worked for the Ford Motor Company in Buffalo, NY and Lorain, OH for 33 years. He also worked at the Kansas City Royals Spring Training in Davenport, FL and Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL. Henry enjoyed camping, baseball, traveling and spending time with his adored grandchildren. 

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years of marriage, Marcia A. (nee:Brzezinski) Lewandowski of Lorain, OH; sons, Henry Jr. Skip (Beth) Lewandowski of Lorain, OH and Andy (Elina) Lewandowski of St. Augustine, FL; daughters, Linda (Dale) DiFrancesco of Lorain, OH Donna (Ken) Bushee of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Stanley A. (Edith) Lewandowski of Lorain, OH and Richard P. (Vera Lee) Lewandowski of Vermilion, OH; grandsons, Brett Bushee, Adam Lewandowski and Aaron (Leslie), Nathaniel (Jill) and Elijah (Madelyn) Haslage; granddaughters, Hannah, Hollybeth and Heather Haslage, Amber and Ally Lewandowski and Lexie and McKenzie Bushee; great-grandsons, Alex, Colin, Ian and Jacob Haslage; great-granddaughter, Piper Haslage; nephews, Michael Lewandowski and Joshua Placta; and nieces, Debra Roggeman, Amy Placta and Rhiannon and Chelsea Wanderlich.    

 

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Dominic Lewandowski; and his parents Henry A. and Helen Lewandowski.

Mr. Anthony M. Neri

Lorain- Anthony Neri, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain, OH after a short illness.

 

Anthony was born on January 4, 1925 in Galion, OH. He grew up in Galion and moved to Lorain as a young adult where he raised his family and lived for the rest of his life. Anthony worked at Lake Terminal Railroad and retired after 32 years. He enjoyed painting and golfing in his retirement, and was a proud member of the Democratic Party and an advocate for social and economic justice in America. Anthony treasured the retirement years he shared with his beloved wife, Shirley, who preceded him in death. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also greatly enjoyed round-the-clock political television and old movies.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Toni (Lionel) Lavoie,  Jody (Jeffrey) Novotny, Gina (John) Horinger and Briggitte Stubbs; son, Michael Neri; sisters, Margaret (Ralph) Cordoba and Angela Alvarez; brother, Jesse Neri; grandchildren, Dana, Adam, Lisa, Michael, Danny, Brooke, Bryan, Erin and Brittney; and 13 great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Neri; parents, Joseph Neri and Dominga (nee: Negrete-Liscano) Alvarez; and granddaughter, Kimberly Neri.

Lorain- Santos M. Ortega, 65, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland, OH.

 

He was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on April 25, 1946. Santos was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain, OH. He worked at Terminal Railroad and U.S. Steel.

 

He is survived by his sister, Maria Torres of Puerto Rico and brother, Emiliano Torres of Puerto Rico.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Serafina (nee: Torres).

 

Christian Burial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 31, 2011 at Calvary Cemetery, 555 North Ridge Road W, Lorain, OH 44053 (meet at main entrance of cemetery), Fr. Mr. Charles L. Hardway

Lorain- Charles L. Hardway, 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

Charles was born on August 26, 1930 in Gassaway, West Virginia to his loving parents, William Earl and Ocie B. (nee: Hacker) Hardway.

He was a graduate of Gassaway High School, Class of 1949 and he moved to Lorain, OH following graduation to work as a car inspector for the Railroad. He met and married his beloved wife, Glenna (nee: Cromwell) Hardway on August 4, 1950. They raised 4 loving children together. Charles worked for the railroad for 43 years and retired from Conrail Fairlane Yard in Lorain, OH. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Elyria, OH, where he was a church trustee for several years. Charles enjoyed model trains, his clock collection, and the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and wildlife.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years of marriage, Glenna R. Hardway; children, Debby Cantrell of Norwalk, OH, Charles M. (Christina) Hardway of Lorain, OH, Robert A. (Karen) Hardway of Wakeman, OH and Michelle E. (Raymond) Paynter of Elyria, OH;brother, Earl Hardway Jr.; sisters, Wanda Rogers and Eloise Frame; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Eugene and Darrel.

Mr. David Jerome Burns

Lorain- David Jerome Burns, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at his home in Lorain, OH.

David was born on July 18, 1930 in Lorain, OH to his loving parents, Dewey James and Rosalind (nee: Halm) Burns.

 He graduated from St. Mary Academy in Lorain, OH, Class of 1948. David enlisted in the United States Army on April 26, 1951 and was stationed in Pusan, South Korea during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 9, 1953. David returned home for a short ten days during his service time, to marry his beloved high school sweetheart, Betty Ann (nee:Kiska) Burns on October 27, 1951. He was employed at B.F. Goodrich in Avon Lake for over 30 years. David was a member of St. Peter Church, Italian American Veterans, Knights of Columbus and many other social organizations in Lorain, OH. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Ann Burns; loving children, Kathleen (Dennis) Hawke, Peggy (Rick) Catley, Bobbie (Dr. Krag) Churchill, David John (Janet) Burns and James (Denise) Burns; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Celine Rumpler, Mary Alice Wagner and Joan Pienoski; and brother, John Burns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Charles Burns; and infant daughter, Amy Beth.

Mr. Daniel J. Emerick

St. Augustine, Florida Daniel J. Sonny Emerick, 74, Born in Lorain, Ohio, resident of St. Augustine, Florida, formerly of Wakeman, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011. 

He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Fraternal order of the Eagles of Amherst, Ohio.  He was also a union carpenter for the local 705 out of Lorain, Ohio.  He enjoyed hunting and camping with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Clara Lee (nee: Yerico) Emerick; sons Jeff Emerick and Scott Emerick, both residing in Norwalk,Ohio; daughters, Barb Risner, Dani Emerick, Michelle Marks and Toni Couts, all residing in St. Augustine, Florida; 11 grandkids; 10 great grandkids; and dog Max.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilford Emerick and Bertha Emerick.

Mr. Robert Conley Eads

Lucedale, MS- Robert C. Eads, 61, lost his fight with cancer, Sunday, October 9, 2011 surrounded by family in his daughters Wellington home.

Robert was born in Radford, VA. Robert worked at USS Steel in Lorain for 30 years where he was affectionately known as Number One. He retired in 2000. Not being one to sit around, he took a job at SBS Transit in August 2000 where he and his wife both retired in 2005. They headed south to Mississippi to live and enjoy their retirement. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Harley Rider and loved going on long rides. He also enjoyed going to the turkey shoots with his family and friends and spending time in his pool, cooking out with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Diane M. Eads; his mother, Ida (nee: Parks)Eads; his father, Garnett Eads; his brother, Butch Eads; and his beloved nephew, Bryan Holloway-McGraw.

He is survived by two sisters, Marti (Ray) McGraw of Passcagula, MS and Gale (Jack Greta) Burcher of Newport News, VA; two brothers, Larry (Shirley) Parks of Radford, VA and Grant (Laura) Cales of Lucedale, MS; his sons, Mason C. (Johnna) Crowe Jr. of Palm Bay, FL and Robert C. Eads Jr of Lucedale, MS; daughter, Tammy (Rocky) Stinson of Wellington, OH; adopted daughter, Brandi (nee: Richards) Moon of Lorain, OH; eighteen grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. All Harley Riders Welcome. Ride them if You got em!
