Dearest Joan, David, Dean and Dan, When we first came to Kelleys Island, we knew no one and nothing about the island. Joan, you and Chuck immediately took the time to make us feel welcome and comfortable, and had been the best neighbors anyone could ever have for the last 25 years. Chuck was such a good friend. He was always trying to be helpful and lend a hand. He always displayed a great attitude no matter how tough things were or how bad he was feeling. He never complained about anythingexcept when his grass got to high :) We were always impressed by the fact that he never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He would find something good to say or say nothing at all. Most memorable was that great smile of his. He would always greet us with a big smile, a handshake for Gary and a hug for Lanette. He always wanted to make others feel good. We all had such good times together. Gary misses the times when the two of them would sneak into the barn for a beer together. They would sit there for hours taking about everything and nothing, but always had a great time. We will always cherish the bird feeder you two gave us. It was the first one we had on the island and by far the most special. Lanette will never forget when she would come up to the island without Gary, preparing for a big weekend with the girls, and Chuck would help her unpack everything and make sure that he was there if we needed anything. Chuck was such a wonderful and special man and we will never forget him. He always spoke highly of you Joan, and when he was getting sick, commented many times how lucky he was to have you. Dean, David and Dan, your Dad bragged about you all the time. He was so proud of all of you. God will definitely show you the way to smiling again. We know this experience will change you forever. Just remember all the good times you shared and all the love he gave you throughout the years. We have so many wonderful, happy memories of Chuck. He was such a special friend who will live in our hearts forever. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Gary and Lanette Muzie
