Mr. Michael C. Sechkar

Cleveland- Michael C. Sechkar, 57, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at his home in Cleveland, OH.

He was born on December 7, 1953 in Austin, TX to his loving parents, Fred C. and Mildred E.Mim Sechkar.

Michael graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain, OH, Class of 1972 and earned his Associate degree from Lorain County Community College. He was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his parents, Fred and Mildred (nee: Naidenoff) Sechkar; and brothers, Edward and Joseph (wife-Mikki) Sechkar.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 5:00 8:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Peter Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH 44053, Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. I worked with Mike at the former Mark Restaurant (Elyria) in the mid 80s. This was during a very tough time in my life, but Mike made me laugh, and I enjoyed his wit and sense of humor. I kept in touch with him for several years, and I was blessed when he attended my wedding in '89. He was the life of the party and the children there all danced with him and had a blast! I moved out of the area for 20 years and tried writing him but letters were returned, still I hoped to someday meet up with him again. We recently moved back to Lorain (We love this town tremendously), and it was such a sad thing to see his obit. I am truly grateful to have known him.
