Randy Grose

Wellington- Randy Grose, 42, formerly of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at his home in Wellington.

He was born in Lorain, OH on November 19, 1972 to his loving parents, George and Maryanne Grose.

Randy graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Class of 1992; He earned his Associate Degree in Engineering from Lorain County Community College and he served a four year apprenticeship with Ridge Tool in Elyria where he worked for 15 years.

Randy enjoyed bike riding, running, fishing, boating, building and rebuilding cars, riding dirt bikes and racing at Norwalk Raceway Park. He was a gifted fisherman and he loved fishing for Largemouth Bass. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and leaves a lifetime of memories.

He is survived by his loving parents, George and Maryanne Grose of Lorain; brother, Kirk (Renee) Grose of North Ridgeville; and a niece, Brittany and nephew, Gary.

Mr. Bernard W. Reisz

Lorain- Bernard W. Reisz, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November, 3, 2015 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born on August 31, 1927 in Elyria, OH to his parents, William and Sophia (nee: Coon) Reisz.

Bernard was married to Bernice (nee: Fletcher) Reisz on June 7, 1947. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving in WWII from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1946. He worked as a Sheet Metal Worker retiring from Sibley in 1989. Bernard was a member of St. Peter Church in Lorain, and Local #33 Sheet Metal Workers Union. He was an avid bowler and loved playing golf.

Survivors include his children, Janice (Al) Heighberger, Dolly Roches, Susie (Don) Sicurella, Bernard Reisz and Sherry (David) Pankratz; brother, William (Luann) Reisz; sister, Barbara Muller; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.


Bernard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years of marriage, Bernice V. Reisz; parents, William and Sophia Reisz; brothers, Donald and Frank Reisz; and loving daughter-in-law, Carolyn Reisz on November 2, 2015.


Bernard's family would like to extend a special thank you to Golden Acres Nursing Home, New Life Hospice and Autumn Aegis Nursing Home for the excellent care extended to their father.

Mr. Albert "Al" T. Todarello

Sheffield Lake- Albert "Al" T. Todarello, 85, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Lorain, OH.

Albert was born to his loving parents, Eugene and Giovanna (nee: Alleruzzo) Todarello on February 28, 1930 in Lorain, OH where he lived until moving to Sheffield Lake.

Al graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1948A. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving from February 1948 until his honorable medical discharge in May 1948. Albert returned home and worked with the U.S. Postal Service in Lorain and Sheffield Lake for 28 years as a Clerk and Road Test Examiner. He married his loving wife, Connie (nee: Williams) on October 28, 2006. Al was a past member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and a current member of St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain, the IAV Post 1 in Lorain, NRA and the OGCA. He enjoyed collecting antiques, selling at Jamie's Flea Market, restoring lamps and working on clocks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Todarello of Sheffield Lake; son, Greg Roll of Oberlin; daughter, Dawn [nee: Roll] Glading of Vermilion; sister, Dina (Walt-deceased) Litkovitz of DeBary, FL; sister-in-laws, Bernice Todarello of Avon and Donna Masowich of Oberlin; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Giovanna Todarello; first wife, Mary Todarello; brothers, Dominic (Marge), John (Connie), Alfred and Angelo (Peggy) Todarello; and nephew, Robert Todarello.

Mary "Chris" Jimes

Cleveland- Mary "Chris" Jimes, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at her home in Cleveland, OH.

She was born in Lakewood, OH on December 15, 1958 to her loving parents, Douglas Woodrow and Mary Elizabeth (nee: Mobilian) Fagan. Chris was raised in Sheffield Lake, OH and attended Brookside High School. She had a passion for cooking especially for her family and friends. Chris loved all animals and she enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Kathy) Pranckunas of Lorain; son, Matthew (Melissa) Long of Vermilion; brother, Doug Fagan of Cleveland, OH; sister, Sandra McNally of Lakewood, OH; granddaughter, Brayleigh Long; niece, Dawn; nephews, Shannon and William; and many loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her previous husbands, Dennis Coury in 2003 and Donald Jimes in 2009; and son, Gregory Douglas Long in 2013.

Mrs. Theresa DiGiando

Amherst- Theresa DiGiando (nee: Capizzi), 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Elmcroft Senior Living in Lorain.

Theresa was born on September 19, 1923 in Sandusky, OH, a daughter of Charles and Raeffalle (nee: Esposito) Capizzi. She married her beloved, John DiGiando on August 7, 1943. Theresa was a loving, caring and proud homemaker raising her sons, Philip and John. She enjoyed holidays with family, family reunions, cooking for others and she always put other's needs before her own.

She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Amherst, St. Joseph Auxiliary for 20 years and a volunteer at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain. Theresa genuinely cared about people and truly enjoyed getting her family and friends together.

She is survived by her sons, John (Mary- nee: LaBella) DiGiando of Lorain and Philip (Diane- nee: Malloy) of Montana; brother, Angelo Capizzi; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years of marriage, John DiGiando;  parents, Charles and Raeffalle Capizzi; siblings, Connie Immke, Nick Capizzi and Joe Capizzi.

Theresa's family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve, the caregivers at Elmcroft Senior Living and Dr. George Bescak for the excellent care given to Theresa.

Robert E. "Rob" Reese

Lake County-  Robert E. "Rob" Reese, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his home in Lorain.

Rob was born in Fort Campbell, KY on October 9, 1962.

He graduated from Warren Western Reserve, Class of 1980. Rob married his wife Mara (nee: Sankin) on August 19, 2007 and he was the proud father of two daughters, Lillian Hardin and Brooklyn Reese. He worked with chemically dependent adolescents, and later in life was trained and worked as a professional animal groomer. He was a member of Narcotics Anonymous. Rob loved his family with his greatest love being for his daughters. Music and guitars were his passion, the second being his animals. He possessed very little but what he had, he would have given away freely. His faith and prayer were constant in his life. He would have proudly said "with that I pass".   He is survived by his mother, Judith A. Reese; wife, Mara Sankin-Reese; daughters, Lillian Hardin and Brooklyn Reese; sisters, Dolly (Bob) Macala and Lori (Jim) Rogers; and nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Reese Sr.; and uncle, David Stanowski.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church of Novelty, 14254 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, OH 44072. Mrs. Margaret "Marge" Rosso

Margaret "Marge" (nee: Molnar) Rosso passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Hamilton, OH at age 74 after a long battle with cancer. She moved to Hamilton in 2011 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband and best friend, John to whom she was married for 50 years. She is also survived by son, David (Melissa) Rosso of Columbus; daughter, Karen (Douglas) Warner of Hamilton; her 3 grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Grace, Anna, and Nolan Warner; sister-in-law, Marie (Tom) Kamholz; and brother-in-law, Jim (Patricia) Rosso.

Margaret was a graduate of Lorain High School 1959-B and a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph School of Practical Nursing and happily worked as a nurse for 47 years both at St. Joseph Hospital and Sprenger Retirement Center. She was an active member of St. Peter Parish since 1965 until her move to Hamiltion. While at St. Peter Parish, Margaret was active as a Eucharistic Minister, teacher in Parish School of Religion, and started and directed the Extended Day Program. Her most treasured volunteer work at St. Peter's was her involvement with the Scouting Programs for 14 years and receiving Girl Scout Leader of the Year award in 1988. Other hobbies and interests were spending time with her grandchildren, seasonal decorations in her home and yard, and taking bus trips with her husband. Margaret volunteered at Black River Historical Society and Hospice Center of St. Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve Molnar and Margaret Molnar-Jakab; step-father, Alex Jakab; and nephew, Matthew Rosso.

Mr. Cornelius "Neal" Jancsura

Lorain - Cornelius "Neal" Jancsura, 90, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 peacefully at home with his  family by his side. He was born May 13, 1925 in Vintondale, PA and was a lifelong resident of Lorain. Neal was a graduate of Lorain High School. He was a Veteran of WWII and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wichita. Neal worked for U.S. Steel for more than forty years and retired as head of transportation in 1983. He was a long time member and highly involved at St. Anthony of Padua Church where he helped start the Credit Union and ushered for over 25 years. Neal enjoyed bowling, golfing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol (nee: Zernikow) Jancsura; two daughters, Audrey Jancsura and Marcie (Gary) Cooper; four sons, Neal "Pat" (Renee), Jim (Debbie), Paul (Margaret)  and Joel (Gretchen) Jancsura; 14 grandchildren;  9 great grandchildren; and one nephew, Eric Zernikow.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen (nee: Vargo) Jancsura; and baby brother, Jerome.

Stonja Tillie Burke

Lorain- Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Stonja (Tillie) Burke, 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 30 at Elmcroft of Lorain. Tillie was born March 6, 1925 in Elyria to Traico and Stefanika Stamcoff and lived her entire life in Lorain County. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1943 and married William T. Burke in 1948.

She raised five talented children and was most proud that all five have been married to the same spouse for over 30 years.  Originally a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Greek Orthodox Church in South Lorain, Tillie converted to Catholicism and remained a member of St. Mary's Church until her death.  She worked for years as a Shop Supervisor at The Joseph &Feiss clothing factory in Lorain where she was recognized for her ability to get along with all of the garment makers while inspiring them to make quality men's clothing. 

Tillie was a great cook and an avid reader. When she was fifty years old she began to play tennis and became an active and aggressive player in a short time. Tillie loved all sports, but especially football and was proud of her sons' accomplishments both on the field and in the coaching ranks. She was also very proud of her Macedonian heritage and was an outstanding Macedonian dancer.

Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Alex and George, and sister Cecelia, as well as her husband Bill.  She is survived by sons William and wife Chris of San Antonio, Texas, John and wife Shelly of Glendale, Arizona, daughter RebeccaBarras and husband Mike of Cincinnati, son Michael and wife Jane of The Villages, Florida, and daughter Bonnie DeChant and husband Paul of San Ramon, California. Tillie was grandmother (Baba) to ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, Lorain on Monday from 3-7 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Mary Church, Lorain on Tuesday at 10:00 AM.  Interment Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Alvera Foil Lener

Lorain- Alvera J. (nee: Mancini) Foil Lener, 95, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 19, 1919 in Washington, PA where she was raised. Alvera was married to Dominic Foil in December 1938 and they raised two children together, Rich and Donna. Alvera and Dominic moved to Lorain in 1943 where she worked at Western Automatic Screw and A & P Grocery in the produce department for 25 years while always keeping her family first as a loving homemaker. Her husband Dominic passed away in 1975. Alvera later met and married Michael Lener in June 1977 and she was blessed with another daughter, Michael's daughter, Lucy. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Lorain and she enjoyed baking and gardening.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years of marriage, Michael Lener; children, Donna (Dave) Foisy and Richard (Karyn) Foil; step-daughter, Lucy (Ted) Randles; brother, Rudolph Mancini; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren ; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Dominic Foil; parents, Daniel and Jennie (nee: Lattanzio) Mancini; brothers, Henry, Nick and Richard Mancini; and sisters, Angeline Magnus and Geraldine Troutman. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM, on Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH 44053, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating.
