Lorain- Nicanor Burgos, 67, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014.

He is survived by his siblings, Juan, Esteban, Eliud, Anna Luz, Asuncion, Felicita Santiago and Reina Isabel Burgos; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudio and Mercedes Burgos.

Mrs. Francella Fox

Lorain- Francella M. (nee:Sclafani) Fox, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home in Lorain, OH.

Francella was born in Brocton, NY on May 24, 1927 to her loving parents, Peter and Laura Sclafani. She married her beloved, Aurthur E. Fox on June 7, 1947 and they moved to Amherst in 1949 and to Lorain in 1950 where she spent the rest of her life. Francella was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and the American Legion Post 30. She worked in sales at Van Raalt and she was a server at Heilman's and Holiday Inn. She volunteered at Catholic Charities, setup dinners for the American Legion and also enjoyed bowling and bocce ball. 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bob) Podwalny of Brentwood, CA; sister, Rose Marie (Ronald) Brown of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Daniel (Sara) Podwalny of Cutler Bay, FL and Robert Podwalny of Rancho Cordova, CA; great grandchildren, Kayla and Lillian Podwalny and Evan and Emma Podwalny; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years of marriage, Aurthur E. Fox in 1976; parents, Peter and Laura (nee: Vento) Sclafani; brothers, John and Frank Sclafani; and sisters, Bertha Giambra and Josephine Vogan.

A graveside Christian burial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, November 7, 2014 at Calvary Cemetery, 555 North Ridge Road, Lorain, OH 44053, Fr. Richard E. Hudak, officiating (meet at main entrance of cemetery). A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date and will be announced by Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Lorain (440) 244-1961. Lorain- Marlene A. (nee:Smith) Ruiz-Torres, 77, passed away at her home on Monday, October 27, 2014.

 She was born in Lorain, OH on September 5, 1937 where she was raised and resided all of her life, graduating from Lorain High School and a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church. Marlene was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.

 She is survived by her daughter, Helen Ruiz; sister, Darlene Gauna; niece and caretaker, Theresa Gauna; and grandchildren, Gino, Alexandra and Angelique Ruiz.

 She was preceded in death by her son, Eugene,Jimmy; parents, Charles and Anna Smith; brothers, Gerald, Charles, Robert and William; and sister, Joanne.

Mr. Robert "Bob" F. Repasky

Robert "Bob" F. Repasky of Lorain, Ohio passed away on October 19, 2014 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake, Ohio.

Robert was the beloved brother, cousin and uncle to many who will miss him dearly. He was born in Meadville, PA on December 29, 1947 to his parents, Anthony (1911-2007) and Clara Repasky (1919-2000) as the 2nd of six brothers, Albert, Robert, Harold, Bernard, Kenneth and William. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Bernie.  Bernie died in a tragic fire in his home October 3, 2009.

He is survived by brothers, Albert "Al" and sister-in law, Patricia; Harold "Hal" and sister-in law, Marnie; Bernie's wife, sister-in-law, Linda; Kenneth "Ken" and sister-in-law, Cheryl; and William "Will" and sister-in-law, Susan; many cousins whose Patriarch is Nicholas "Nick" Kraus; and is the beloved Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews scattered all over the United States.

Bob grew up and had a wonderful childhood in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1965 where he lettered in high school wrestling. He spent 4 years in the Navy during which time he completed two tours of duty on the Aircraft Carrier the USS Independence during the Vietnam War. Bob graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, in 1974, with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. He was unmarried and lived in Lorain, Ohio for the past 40 years. Robert started his career as a math teacher in Lorain at Longfellow Junior High from 1974 to 1981. He then took a position as a 10th grade mathematics teacher at Vermilion High School until he retired in 2000. Bob was an assistant wrestling coach at both Longfellow Junior H.S and Vermilion High School. Bob also was a volunteer for over ten years for the Cardiac-Pulmonary Rehab Center at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan throughout his time living in Ohio, despite all the team's ups and downs. Robert enjoyed traveling and made many trips to California, Colorado, Texas and Pennsylvania with his parents before their deaths and also traveled a few times with friends to Europe. He was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain for the past 40 years. Bob was also a long standing member of the Ohio Education Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and a Life member of AMVETS Post 22. He succumbed to a terminal Lung Disease diagnosed in 2011.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5-7 PM and Friday, October 24, 2014, from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM.  Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:20 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2014, at St. Anthony of Padua, 1305 E Erie Avenue, Lorain, Fr. Richard E. Hudak, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at St. James Cemetery in Crossingville, PA, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain. Mr. Larry E. Steffani

Lorain- Larry Steffani, 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, OH.

He was born in Lorain, Ohio on July 19, 1934 to his loving parents, Alfonso and Rose (nee: Ujlaki) Steffani. Lawrence attended St. Mary's Academy in Lorain, playing football and basketball before he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 and was honorably discharged following his service. He married his beloved wife, Margaret (nee: Brotherton) on September 24, 1977. Larry worked at GM for 32 years retiring in 1999. He was a Life Member at the Amvets and VFW in Elyria and a member of the United Polish Club in Elyria for 30 years. Larry enjoyed spending his free time bowling, golfing and playing baseball in the city leagues.

He is survived by his three daughters, Earlene (Terry) O'Connor of Lorain, Cathie (Alan) Prosser of Bellevue and Margeret (Jim) Carver of Bellevue; son, Earl Eddington of Elyria; Eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years of marriage, Margeret (nee: Brotherton) Steffani; parents, Alfonso and Rose Steffani; and son, Bill Eddington.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, (440) 244-1961 on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 3:00 until closing prayers at 6:00 PM. Lorain- Mercedes A. (nee: Kempt) Schue, 87, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, OH.

She was a lifelong resident of Lorain, OH where she was born on December 2, 1926 to her loving parents, Captain William and Catherine (nee: Burns) Kempt. Mercedes was a member of St. Anthony's Parish.

She is survived by her children, Daniel T. (Lucinda) Schue of Elyria, Michael (Deborah) Schue of Lorain and Kathleen "Cookie" Schue of Amherst; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years of marriage, James B. Schue; sisters, LaVern Camera, Eileen McPhie and Regie Budka; and an infant grandson.

Joyce M. Blessing

 Lorain- Joyce Marie (nee: Bombac) Blessing, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

 Joyce was born in Lorain, OH on December 30, 1945 to loving parents, John and Josephine (nee: Zocchi) Bombac. She graduated from Admiral King High School in 1963 and soon after began traveling and working throughout the United States, including California, Florida, Texas, and New York. Joyce worked in a variety of administrative positions and obtained Real Estate licenses in both Texas and New York. Joyce enjoyed participating in the Civil Air Patrol, achieving the level of Lieutenant, was an avid reader and lifelong learner, and enjoyed sewing and knitting her own clothes.  She was also a gifted storyteller.  Joyce most enjoyed providing a loving home for her family and helping others. She was a literacy volunteer with the Lorain Public Library and was a dedicated caregiver for her parents and two of her daughters. Joyce was a member at St. Peter's Church in Lorain.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah L. and Lisa R. Blessing  from Lorain, OH, and Laura M. Blessing from Gahanna, OH; and brothers, Raymond F. (Marilyn) Bombac from Omaha, Nebraska and Lawrence A. Bombac from Vermillion, OH.

 She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Josephine Bombac.

Sheffield Lake- James C. Keenan Sr, 79, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 7, 2014.

He retired from Ford Motor Company after 36 years and James was an avid camper and he enjoyed fishing, bowling and bluegrass music.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 58 years, Pearl L. (nee: Lonas) Keenan; loving children, Lois (Dennis) Mihalek, James Jr., Walter (Lori), Kenneth; grandchildren, Katie, Stephanie, Sarah and Jakob; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Estella Ellwood, Mary Glass and Ruthie Aponte; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth; and two brothers. Mrs. Vicki Lynn Thomas

Lorain- Vicki Lynn (nee: Cogdell) Thomas, 52, passed away at home after a short illness on Friday, October 3, 2014. Vicki was born on September 12, 1962 and was a lifelong area resident and beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Vicki's caring smile and loving personality will be missed but her love has left a beautiful memory for all that knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Charles and Donna (nee: Bliss) Cogdell; husband of 14 years, Louis Thomas; son, Jonny Mrazek; daughter, Jennifer (Eugene-fiance) McDonough; four beautiful grandchildren, Corina, Breayna, Grace and Geno; brother, Doug Cogdell; sister, Carri Mroz; step-daughter, Lisa; step-grandson, Avion; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sheffield Lake- Margaret Alice (nee: Gorman) Beegle, 67, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

 Margaret was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 4, 1947 to her loving parents, Willam and Blanche (nee: Hefler) Gorman.

 Margaret was an Admiral King High School graduate and devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, she was an avid reader, and she had a profound love and special place in her heart for animals.  

 She is survived by her daughters, Susan Johnson, Michaela Bellamy, Dawn Monteleone, Cindy Gee and Tammy Johnson; sister, Carol Taylor; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beegle; parents, William and Blanche Gorman; father, brother, Edward Spencer; and her sister, Joan Kerswell.
