Mrs. Theresa Eileen McPhie

Lorain - Theresa "Eileen" (nee: Diewald) McPhie, 94, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

Mrs. McPhie was born in Lorain on September 4, 1918 to her loving parents, Joseph and Catherine (nee: Burns) Diewald. She was a lifelong resident of Lorain and graduated from St. Mary Academy, Class of 1936. Eileen married her beloved Malcolm K. McPhie on June 4, 1940. She was a clerk at Crystal Clear for 20 years and a proud member of St. Mary Church in Lorain where she was a member of the Women's Guild, Altar and Rosary Society, and St. Mary Athletic Boosters. Eileen was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and she enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary Food Pantry, The Lorain Palace Theater as an usher, Senior Bingo at the Lorain Senior Center, and a poll worker on election day. She was also the matriarch of the Burns clan.

She is survived by her sons, Gus (Mary) McPhie of Cincinnati, OH, Joe (Maribeth) McPhie of Alpharetta, GA, Bob (Vicki) McPhie of Lorain, and Bill (Barb) McPhie of Lorain; daughter, Cathie (Herb Watling) McPhie of Lorain; daughter in law, Toni McPhie of Lorain; sister, Mercedes Schue; grandchildren, Christi (Bill), Michael (Jennifer), Brian (Sarah), Molly (Mark), Megan, Katie (J.P.), Colleen (Scott), Laurie (Ross), Sarah (Brian), Matthew (Morriah), Brian (Heather) and Chris (Julie); and 17 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Catherine Diewald; her husband of 20 years of marriage, Malcolm K. McPhie in 1961; sons, Richard K. McPhie and James M. McPhie; grandson, Brett W. McPhie; and sisters, Laverne Camera and Regie Budka.

Mrs. McPhie's children would like to extend much gratitude for the care shown by the staff at 1 West at Mercy, Anchor Lodge Rehabilitation and special thanks to Anchor Lodge Assisted Living staff for their exceptional care.

Mrs. Angela Alice Barraco

King, NC- Angela A. (nee: Gorka) Barraco, 93, formerly of Avon, OH passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Angela was born in Lorain, OH on January 17, 1920 to her loving parents, George and Anna (nee: Lichon) Gorka and lived in Lorain, OH until moving to Avon, OH in 1963 and more recently, moving to King, NC in 2009 to be near her daughter. She graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1939 and was married to her beloved Alfred V. Barraco on August 17, 1946. Angela was an administrative assistant at Joseph and Feiss Company-Manufacturer of Men's Clothing in Elyria, OH and retired in 1982. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Avon, OH and attended Good Shepherd Catholic Mission Church in King, NC. Angela enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her son, Al (Karen) Barraco of Muncy, PA; daughter, Barbara (Dennis) Vickland of King, NC; son, James (Ann) Barraco of Reynoldsburg, OH; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years of marriage, Alfred V. Barraco in 1985; parents, George and Anna Gorka; sister, Mary Krol; and brother, Joseph Gorka.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, OH. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in King, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Angela's name to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Lorain- Ida Lee (nee: Webb) Van Haun, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, OH.

 Ida was born in Wentworth, NC on November 5, 1922 to her loving parents, John A. and Sallie (nee: Holt) Webb and moved to Lorain with her husband, Bill, where they raised two sons. She worked as a beautician in Lorain.

 She is survived by her son, Randall D. Van Haun; grandchildren, Laura Irvin and Bill Van Haun; and great grandson, Patrick Van Haun.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Sallie Webb; husband, Wilson C. "Bill" Van Haun; son, Keith Allan Van Haun; and siblings, Erma, Claude, Otis, Reuben, Mary, Clarence, John, and Franklin "Dee".

Lorain- Shirley A. (nee: VanHoose) Hall, 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain, OH.

Shirley was born in Elyria, OH on November 30, 1944 to her loving parents, Edgar and Marie (nee: DeChant) VanHoose and was raised and resided in Lorain, OH.

 She retired from Aramark inside Avon Ford Plant as a line cook for many years. Shirley enjoyed gardening and cross word puzzles. She opened her arms, her home, her kitchen and her heart to many.

 She is survived by her husband, Curtis Hall; daughter, Christina Hall; son, Curtis Hall Jr.; grandchildren, Bryan Hall, Alexis �Mia� Vargas, Hailey Hall, Tyler Franks and Brittany Campo; siblings, James (Maria) VanHoose, Kathleen (Harold) Rutledge, Donna Gunnoe, Robert (Marie) VanHoose, Linda (Jerry) Martin, Edgar VanHoose Jr, Margaret (Charles) Nutt; and several nieces and nephews.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Marie VanHoose; brother, Donald VanHoose; and nephew, Charles Nutt.

Mrs. Malvine Cadwallader

Lorain- Malvine Norma (nee: Mannarelli) Cadwallader died peacefully on the morning of June 7, 2013 after a long and productive life.  Born in Montanaro, Italy on September 30, 1919, Malvine moved to Lorain, Ohio, in 1927 and lived there for nearly the rest of her long life, moving to Dayton, Ohio, four years ago to be near her eldest daughter, Patricia. Malvine attended Brownell Elementary and Irving Junior High, and graduated from Lorain High School in the Class of 1939-A. She began her lifetime career in retail sales at Smith and Gerhardt in downtown Lorain and later worked for the O'Neil Company, Higbee's, and Dillard's. She was an extraordinary sales associate, frequently earning awards and accolades from her grateful employers. During World War II, Malvine met a tall, handsome GI at the Crystal Beach Friday Night Dances, popular with the young people of Lorain and the soldiers of nearby Port Clinton Army Base.  Married on January 7, 1943, Malvine and husband, Simeon Cadwallader had a long and loving marriage that spanned 65 years, ending with Simeon's death in 2008. The two were the proud parents of two daughters, Patricia Parks (Chuck Gentile) and Nancy Johnson (Robert Johnson), and the very proud grandparents of Allison and Amy Parks and Matthew Johnson (Julia Mazzoleni), all of whom survive her.  In addition to her husband, Malvine was preceded in death by her parents, Matteo and Angelina Mannarelli and her brother, Gaetano Mannarelli. She is also survived by sisters, Phyllis Mannarelli and Virginia Murray.

Mr. Richard A. "Dick" Donohue

Amherst- Richard A. "Dick" Donohue, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 6, 2013  at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

 Richard was born in Tampa, FL on January 25, 1945 to his loving parents, Raymond and Geraldine (nee: Hammer) Donohue.

He graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1963. Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1969. He married Becky (nee: Trull) on October 17, 1970. Richard worked in accounting with U.S. Steel in Lorain, retiring after 30 years of service and later worked with the Lorain School System in maintenance. He was a member of Amvets Post #20 in Vermilion, OH, Sons of the American Revolution, Dead Yeast Society and Erie County Conservation League. Richard enjoyed trap shooting, high power shooting, making wine, traveling and spending time with his beloved granddaughters.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years of marriage, Becky Donohue of Amherst, OH; son, Robert (Carol) Donohue of Aurora, OH; daughter, Melinda (Greg) Zeise of Lorain, OH; granddaughters, Brigid Renee and Ana Sofia; and brother, James (Kathy) Donohue of Wakeman, OH.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Donohue; and parents, Raymond and Geraldine Donohue.

Lorain- Bryan J. Garcia, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Bryan was born in Lorain, OH on November 11, 1958 to his loving parents, Joseph J. and Jeanne C. (nee: Sadowski) Garcia.

He graduated from Admiral King High School, Class of 1977 and married his beloved wife, Sandy (nee: Vujosevic) Garcia on October 9, 1982. Bryan worked for 34 years with CenturyLink. He enjoyed walking his loyal companion, Cooper, biking, golfing, traveling and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years of marriage, Sandy Garcia; daughter, Amanda (Valentino) Rosas of North Ridgeville, OH; son, Vincent (Amanda Danielson-fiancé) Garcia of Ocala, FL; brother, Jeffrey Garcia; sister, Joan Jackson; and loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joe and Jeanne Garcia in 2012.

Miss Mary F. Bird

Lorain- Mary F. Bird, 50, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

 Mary was born in Portsmouth, OH on August 27, 1962 and moved to Lorain in 1964 where she was raised and resided. She was employed by Bendix Manufacturing as a production assembler. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, crafts, her cats and she loved her family.

 She is survived by her sister, Cindy A. Ketcham of Lorain, OH; brother, John H. Bird of Dallas, GA; nieces, Mariah, Jessica and Catherine; nephew, James; and many loving family members.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Sophia C. (nee: McCall) Bird;

Mrs. Geraldine A. Cendrosky

Lorain- Geraldine A. (nee: Uehlein) Cendrosky passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the age of 99 and 3/4 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange, OH.

Gerri was born in Lorain, OH on August 20, 1913 and spent all of her life in Lorain. She worked at General Industries and retired as an assembler. Gerri was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish in Lorain, St. Joseph�s Church Ladies Guild in Lorain and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was the family historian and she also enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch and playing Cribbage.

She is survived by her son, Neil (Mikey) Cendrosky of LaGrange, OH; daughter-in-law, Cis Cendrosky of Lorain, OH; sister-in-law, Caroline Uehlein of Lorain; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Shirley (Bob) Stanziano; son, Thomas; parents, Lawrence and Bertha (nee: Limpach) Uehlein; brothers, Robert, Harold and Leroy Uehlein; and sister, Elizabeth Rounds.

Mr. Brian K. Harkless

Lorain- Brian Keith Harkless, 40, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at his home in Lorain, OH.

Brian was born in Lorain, OH on January 22, 1973. He graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1992 and he worked at Ted�s Floor Covering. He married Shirley (nee: Horvath) on April 12, 1994. Brian loved to listen to music, enjoyed playing corn hole and he loved his children. 

He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Harkless; children, Christopher, Briana and Brian Jr.; granddaughter, Zoey; mother, Linda (nee: Harkless) Lamp; and grandmother, Mary Harkless.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Andy Harkless.
