Mrs. Mary Ellen Wilke

Mary Ellen Wilke (nee: Bauman), age 98, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 5, 2014 .


She graduated from Bowling Green with a Bachelor in Chemistry and subsequently she earned a Masters Degree from Case Western Reserve. She then worked for three years with Strong Cobb Research Laboratory in Cleveland. Following her marriage in 1943 she devoted her life to her family.

She is survived by her daughter Dr. Mary C. Vitter; sons, Dr. William S. Wilke, Dr. Richard L. Wilke, James B. Wilke, M.S. and Dr. Charles M. Wilke; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard M. Wilke in 2008.  Funeral Services are private.

Mr. Ronald F. Ridenour

Lorain- Ronald F. Ridenour, 52, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, OH surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Lorain, OH on September 17, 1961 to his loving parents, Richard and Erlinda (nee: Gutierrez) Ridenour.

Ron graduated from Lorain Catholic High School, Class of 1981. He was a salesman for RJ Reynolds and later was the owner and proprietor of Rag�s Wine and Beverage until 2003. Ron was a past president, a coach and a proud sponsor of Lorain Youth Baseball, he was essential in starting the F League and later he was inducted in the Lorain Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his sons, Rick Ridenour of Elyria and Steven (Britney) Ridenour of Delaware; ex-wife, Anna (nee: Alicea) Ridenour; mother, Erlinda Ridenour of Lorain; brothers, Richard Ridenour Jr. of Ft. Worth, TX and Raymond Ridenour of Lorain; sisters, Colleen Ridenour of Lorain, Carolyn (Jawan) Robinson of Fairview Park, Celinda (Mark) Notarberardino of Bay Village and Catie (Jacob) Grasso of Amherst; granddaughter, Maggie Louise of Delaware and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ridenour.

Mrs. Rosemary M Zimmerman

Lorain- Rosemary Margaret Zimmerman, 96, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain, OH surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 7, 1918 in Johnstown, PA to her loving parents, Nicholas and Mabel (nee: Swasy) Dowdell.

Rosemary graduated from Johnstown Catholic High School, Class of 1935 and soon after graduation she moved to Lorain, OH. She married her beloved, Thomas M. Zimmerman on May 10, 1941 and they raised five children together. Rosemary worked for CenturyTel as a Computer Supervisor, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain. Rosemary enjoyed working on her family tree on her computer, crocheting, and she was an avid reader.

She is survived by her sons, Paul (Cheryl), Bernard (Krystyna) of Livonia, MI and Phil (Louise) Zimmerman; daughter, Rosemary (Rich) Dimacchia; grandchildren, Richard, John, Anthony, Nicholas and  Gina Dimacchia: Christine Vazquez, Thomas, Brian and Steve Zimmerman; Sixteen great grandchildren; and sister-in-laws, Alma Ensign, Catherine Ann Wargo and Sr. Gladys Zimmerman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Mabel Dowdell; husband; Thomas M. Zimmerman Sr.; son, Thomas M. Zimmerman Jr., brother, Lt. Col. James N. Dowdell.

Mrs. Jane M. DurJava

Lorain- Jane M. DurJava (nee: Kelley), 84, passed away following a longtime illness on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born in Lorain, OH on April 12, 1930 to her loving parents, John J. and LaVerne (nee: Ault) Kelley.

She graduated from St. Mary Academy, Class of 1948. Jane was Diocesan Certified for the Ministry of Consolation and Diocesan Certified to teach CCD and taught at St. Mary, St. Peter and St. Anthony Schools in Lorain. She was employed at Joseph & Feiss and later at New York Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1989. Jane was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and was active in her parish as a eucharistic minister of communion, a member of the kitchen crew,  the Sanctity of Life Committee, Marian Guild, Senior Sociables, and member of the Third Order of Franciscans St. John Vianney Fraternity. She was a past member of Serra International Organization.

She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Dye and Susan (Don) Flak; grandchildren, Dennis Dye, Dale "Kris" Dye, Diana Dye, Debbie Dye, John Kernaghan, Kelly Flak and Corbin Flak; step granddaughter, Sheri (Rich) Revercomb; great grandchildren, Taylor, Dorian, Kailynn, Landon, Brooklyn and Brianna; step great grandchildren, Rickie Fitch Jr. and Misty Brown; great great grandchildren, Cayden, Arianna, Jasmine, David, Aiden and Kylee; brother, Jack (Barbara) Kelley; nephews, Patrick, Kevin and Daniel Kelley; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Capt. John J. Kelley and LaVerne Kelley; husband, Neil DurJava in 1994; son, James DurJava in 1995; son-in-law, Carl Dye in 2013; nephews, John and Michael Kelley; and niece, Kathleen Kelley

Elyria- Susan Jean Burianek, 60, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain, OH.

 She was born in Aliquippa, PA on November 20, 1953 to her loving parents, Carl and Barbara (nee: Ryan) Walls.

 Sue graduated Class of 1972 from Hopewell High School in Aliquippa, PA. She married Michael Burianek on July 19, 1975 and they raised two daughters together, Becky-Sue and Kristin. They moved to Maryland and in 1990 they moved to North Ridgeville, OH. She worked at Wal-Mart in Avon, retiring in 2010. Sue enjoyed cooking and she loved spending time with her family and friends.

 She is survived by her daughters, Becky-Sue Burianek of Elyria, OH and Kristin L. (Brandon) Light of Elyria, OH; and grandson, Alexander W. Light.

 She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years of marriage, Michael Burianek; parents, Carl W. and Barbara A. Walls; and brother, Ronald J. Walls.

Carole Williams

Lorain- Carole Williams, 79, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at University Hospitals of Elyria with her loving family by her side.

Carole was born to her loving parents, Gordon and Lucille A. (nee: Morse) McClelland in Detroit, Michigan on January 23, 1935. She graduated from Onaway High School, Class of 1953 and went on to obtain her Associate Degree from Onaway Community College in Elementary Education. Following college, in 1954, she enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Communication Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1957. Carole was married for 30 years to Daniel H. Williams and together they raised their loving son, Scott. She worked in bookkeeping for DeSantis Distributing for over 25 years. Carole was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ where she enjoyed working on the church paper and social gatherings. 

She is survived by her son, Scott (Lynn) Williams; grandsons, Sgt. Kyle (Danielle) Williams and Cpl. Steven Williams both USMC; great-grandson, Colton Williams; brother, Robert (Joyce) McClelland of Michigan; and sisters, Anne Kachiros and Susan Rangel both of Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lucille McClelland; brothers, Edward, Frank "Wayne" and Gordon "Gene" McClelland; and Step-Mother, May McClelland.

Irene "Page" Lough

Lorain- Irene "Page" Lough, 84, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

 Page was born on June 15, 1930 in Hundred, WV to her loving parents, Isatus and Merle (nee: Ballard) Phillips.

 She graduated from Hundred High School, Class of 1948. Page married Donald Lough on October 15, 1950 and they had three children together. She moved to Lorain in 1954 and she was a homemaker all of her life. Page was a member of Cornerstone Methodist Church in Elyria and Ocklawaha Methodist Church in Florida. She enjoyed playing golf, reading and watching old movies.

 She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Gibson and Jan (Ronnie) Cottrell; son, Jay Lough; grandchildren, Aaron, Julie, DJ, Nicole, Brittany, Christian and Adam; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years of marriage, Donald N. Lough; and parents, Isatus and Merle Phillips.

Lorain- Brigid Mary Conrad, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her home in Lorain, OH.

 She was born June 17, 1935 to her loving parents, Peter and Beatrice (nee: Coyne) Murray in Lorain, OH. Mary married Charles A. Conrad on August 25, 1956. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain, OH and graduated from Lorain St. Mary's High School, Class of 1953. Mary retired from Lawson's Dairy after many years of employment. She enjoyed being a CYO coach and volunteering her time at the St. Mary Food Pantry. Mary had fierce pride in her family and her Irish heritage and greatly enjoyed her trips to Ireland.

 She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles A. Conrad of Lorain, OH; sons, Joseph (Becky) Conrad of El Monte, CA, E.J. (Annette) Conrad of Oceanside, CA, Michael (Lisa) Conrad of Charlotte, NC, and David Conrad of Lorain, OH; daughter, Maureen (Jeff) Smith of Lorain, OH; fifteen cherished grandchildren; and brothers, twin brother, Peter (Evelyn), John (Jane), Rev. Cornelius, Thomas (Gerrie), Michael (Mimi) and Daniel (Mary Beth) Murray

Fred C. Sechkar

Lorain- Fred C. Sechkar, 84, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, OH.

 He was born January 14, 1930 to the late John and Sue Sechkar in Lorain, OH. Married to Mildred E. "Mim" (nee: Naidenoff) Sechkar on December 27, 1952. Fred attended Holy Trinity School and Lorain High School, Class of 1948-B and graduated as a member of The National Honor Society. He graduated from Ohio University in 1952. Fred was First Lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired from General Motors after 22 years. Fred enjoyed working part time at Sears for 14 years. He also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, bingo, card playing and in earlier years, traveling. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain and a lifetime member of the Slovak Club.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mildred; sons, Joseph (Mikki) and Edward Sechkar; three granddaughters, Kristy Fanaroff, Kelly Whitehorn and Colleen Gildee; sister, Joan Gims; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; and sister, Margaret Fries.

Caroline (nee: Munoz) Peplin

Lorain- Carol (nee: Munoz) Peplin, 55, passed away after a long illness on Friday, May 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family

 Carol, the daughter of Victor and Maria (nee: Ramirez) Munoz, was born Feb 25, 1959 in St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain. She graduated from Southview High School and was employed at Lakewood Mfg. as a Quality Control Specialist and she also worked at the Lorain Post Office.

She married, Edward D Peplin on January 8, 1983. In 1984, she was accepted at John Carroll University and graduated in 1987 with a B.S. in Psychology. She then went sailing with her husband around the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean till 1993. She and her husband purchased a home in Deerfield Beach, FL in 1994. In 1997, she enrolled in the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and graduated in 2000 with a BS in Computer Animation. In 2003, they founded Covenant Production Inc. an advertising studio specializing in computer animation for TV spots. The business operated very successfully until 2009 when Carol began to experience health problems. Throughout her life she was a serious artist and photographer with some of her work displayed in the Ft Lauderdale airport. Carol was an avid athlete, played racket ball, tennis, a runner and weightlifter. In October 2012, they moved back to Lorain where her health slowly declined.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Peplin; parents, Victor and Maria Munoz; two sisters, Sandra Cruz and Vicki Coates; brother, Ray Munoz; and numerous nieces and nephews all who reside in the Lorain area.

She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Lucy.
