I knew Edd back in 1994 when I worked at the Beer Barrel and was studying to be a teacher. Since he was in education, he would share stories. I became a teacher on Put-in-Bay soon after college and each summer would run into Edd. He always remembered me and made me feel special, asking about my class that year, etc. He was a happy man with a kindness that was felt immediately upon meeting him all those years ago. I'm sorry for your family's loss...

Very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I worked with him at Southview High School in the mid 70's and went skiing with him often. He had a fantastic sense of humor! My condolences to his friends and family. He will be sorely missed.

We knew Edd from the island and kept in touch with him over the years while we were living in Florida. We saw him at Put-in-Bay and in Lorain when we were home visiting and it was always nice to catch up and visit with him. He was a kind, caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We send our deepest condolences to your family.

I was so saddened to learn of Mr. Meneely's passing. He was one of the people I remember well from Southview, and he was instrumental in inspiring me to continue my education and study engineering. I regret that I never contacted him to thank him for his great work. He will be missed, and my deepest and most sincere condolences to the family. May we find comfort in this difficult time. God Bless. -Vo

I knew Ed from Ziggy's. Ed's colleagues as well as former students recalled a caring, educator that loved his students. He always talked about his family in Pennslyvannia with reverence. He remembered everything about everyone he knew. He lived in the same apartment as my Aunt, whom adored Ed and made him pies. He always had a smile for everyone and was a great listener. You will be missed Ed Meneely!

What a teacher this man was! From his casual but effective style to his amusingly dry wit, Edd made a lasting impression on me (in the '60's) and, I'm sure,on many others. The family has my most sincere condolences.
