Mrs. Iole Bonaminio

(1929-2015)

Lorain -- Iole N. Bonaminio (nee: Zero), 85, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Golden Acres Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born on July 9, 1929 in Montenero, Val Cocchiara, Italy and had lived in Lorain since 1956.   

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Lorain and the Montenero Society. She worked as a seamstress at Bridals by Mary Ann and later Bridals by Michele for many years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and treasured time with her family.  

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Fernando Bonaminio; her son, Berardino (Susan) Bonaminio of Amherst; daughters, Giulia Bonaminio (Warren Nothnick) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Lori Bonaminio (Marco Gonnella) of Montenero, Val Cocchiara, Italy; nine grandchildren, Nicholas and Gina Bonaminio: Christopher and Michael Nothnick: and Matteo, Mark, Virginia, Francesca and Gabriella Gonnella; two great-grandchildren, Berardino and Vincenzo Bonaminio; and her sister, Virginia Gonnella of Montenero, Val Cocchiara, Italy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francesco and Ercolina Zero (nee: Pallotto); brothers, Florindo and Lucio Zero; and her grandson, Berardino Bonaminio on April 30, 2013. 

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 4-8 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:50 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Christian burial services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Online condolences may be sent using www.rsgfuneralhome.com.
