Mr. George A. Pena

Lorain- George A. Pena, 54, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH.

George was born September 4, 1956 in Lorain, OH to his loving parents, George G. and Dolores R. Lola (nee: Garcia) Pena. 

George graduated from Lorain Catholic High School, Class of 1974. Following graduation he went to work for Ford Motor Company for 35 years. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua, Local UAW, Croation Club, Elks Club and Amvets Post 47. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching professional sports with family and friends, playing golf and George loved watching his son and grandchildren play sports. He was married on September 26, 2009 to Laura (nee: McLellan). 

He is survived by his wife, Laura Pena; son, George R. (Krista); mother, Dolores R. Lola Pena; sister, Lori Banes; grandchildren, George Brenton and Kylie Pena; niece, Brittney Banes; nephew, Brandon Banes; his buddy, Daisy; extended family and friends.  

He is preceded in death by his father George G. Pena on June 14, 2009.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:20 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, July 7, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua, Fr. Richard E. Hudak, Pastor, officiating.  Burial services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Online condolences may be sent using www.rsgfuneralhome.com.
