Mrs. Irene Stevens

Lorain- Irene Stevens (nee:Williams), 90, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, OH.

She was born in Grantsville, WV on November 19, 1924. Irene graduated from Calhoun High School, Class of 1942. Following High School, she moved to the Akron area where she met her husband Clifford whom she married on November 5, 1945 and together they moved to Lorain and started their family raising four boys. She was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, a proud homemaker and a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 25 years. Irene enjoyed traveling to her home state of West Virginia, spending time with family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her four sons, Dan, Jerry, Bruce and Ron Stevens; grandchildren, Aja, Andrea, Joy, Bobby and Hayden; great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Costa, Marco, Angel, Eden Irene, Xander and Xavier; nieces, nephews and special nephew, Forest "Bud" Bower.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Clifford Stevens in 2004; parents, Jesse and Mary Williams; sisters, Millie, Opal and Gladys; and brothers, Albert, Alvie, Holly and Hale.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and at Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, OH 44053 on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 9:30 AM until the time of funeral service at 10:00 AM, Rev. Chuck Boals, chaplain, officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Irene's name to the Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 or to Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church.
