Mrs. Lillian Cook

Wakeman- Lillian Cook (nee: Webb), 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, OH.

Lillian was born in Pineknob, West Virginia on January 29, 1922 to her loving parents, Averal and Ammie (nee: Jarrel) Webb. She married her husband James Howard on August 17, 1945 and together they raised their two loving daughters, Nadine and Darlene. She was a homemaker providing a loving home for her family. She enjoyed bowling with her husband, spending time gardening, crafts and crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. Lillian attended Church of the Open Door.

She is survived by her daughters, Nadine (James) Yantko of Sheffield, and Darlene (John) Gaia of Lorain; grandsons, Matt Vealey of Elyria, Mark Vealey of Blooming Rose, West Virginia, Brian Gaia of Toledo, and Jonathan Gaia of Amherst; great grandchildren, Nicholas Vealey of Elyria, Maggie Vealey of Peytona, West Virginia, and Daniel Gaia of Amherst; and great-great grandson, Evan Vealey of Elyria.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years of marriage, James Cook in 1991; parents, Averal and Ammie; son, James Howard Cook; brother, Howard Webb; and sister, Mary Allen.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the funeral home, Pastor Bob Wickens, officiating. Christian burial services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mercy New Life Hospice at 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
