Mr. Thomas Joseph Dean

Thomas Joseph Dean of Lorain got the angels laughing on December 27, 2013 after a brief illness.

Tom was born in January 1953 to John H. and Anna (Nalepka) Dean in Lorain.  He attended Clearview High School where he was active in marching band, theater and the wrestling team.  Tom was a 1971 graduate of Lorain Catholic High School and also took business administration courses at LCCC.

Tom's early employment included Pepsi Bottling in Elyria and 14 years at Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake.  After deciding that factory work was not for him, he enjoyed long careers in mixology and sales, often working in both fields concurrently.  He was employed at Spanky's, Holiday Inn, Biggy's Pub, the Diamond Company, Dillards, and Joseph & Feiss Menswear.  From 2003 to 2007, he was the proprietor of TommyRockers in Elyria.

Because "every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man," Tom looked forward to any opportunity to show off his impeccable sense of style.  He turned his passion into a business with Dean & Company Custom Clothiers.  He served clients across northeast Ohio, including local celebrities and professional athletes.

Tom spent the last five years as a beloved member of the family at Scorchers Casual Eatery & Draft House in Lorain.  The friends he enjoyed there will miss his quick wit, exceptional service, and the genuine care he took with everyone.

Inspired by the film "Rocky," Tom had been a fitness enthusiast for 35 years.  He was also a fan of Formula One racing, fishing, classic film, jazz, and the music of Neil Young.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Kathryn Dean-Dielman and Jennifer Dean, his son-in-law Brad Dielman; his four grandchildren - Nicholas, Anthony, Madeline and Miles, and his spoiled kitty Sasha.  His siblings Ronald Endrizal of Norris, TN; Robert Dean (Carol) and Janice Sellers (Dave), both of Elyria and his many nieces, nephews and cousins also mourn him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Kenneth Endrizal (Elaine) of Edmond, OK.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thomas Dean Memorial Fund, which can be made at any branch of Huntington Banks.  Arrangements were handled by Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home.
