Albert DiLuciano

Albert DiLuciano passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of the morning on July 19, 2016.  His family provided support and comfort through his final days.  He had been fighting cancer for the last few years.

Albert resided in Lorain his entire life.  He was born on December 18, 1930, to Dominic and Candita (Tardio) DiLuciano.  He graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 1949A.

He met the love of his life, Marie Sofia, on his 16th birthday.  They married on February 18, 1950, at St. Peter Church in Lorain.  They remained inseparable until Marie's passing on December 11, 2009.  They were blessed with four children:  Sue (Joe) Bylica, Randy (Melodi) DiLuciano, Alice (James) Wiegand, and Russ DiLuciano (all of Lorain).   His blessings continued with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The grandchildren include Corey (Rachel) DiLuciano, Stacey (Tom) Dalton, Gena (Jeremy) Szakats-Cruz, Graig (Meghan) Szakats, Alyssa (Franklin Hernandez) Wiegand, David (Emily) Wiegand, Michael (Andrea) Bylica, Bryan Dall, and Scott Dall.  There are 17 and one on the way, great-grandchildren.

He worked numerous jobs and side jobs throughout the years to provide for his family.  His work at BF Goodrich in Avon Lake for more than 30 years provided him with the background and knowledge to begin a new business venture with Andrew Ditto and Gilbert Rothman.  His wife Marie aided in the development of the business aspects of V & A Process. The business manufactures and ships plastic welding rod throughout the world.  He was proud to have his family be a part of the business.

Albert was a religious man who attended daily Mass.  He belonged to St. Peter Church in Lorain and was a past member and treasurer of the Serra Club.  He also was a member of the Cosmopolitan Dance Club, Lorain Community Foundation, and was a generous supporter of many charitable organizations.

His interests included playing golf, and working puzzles and Sudoku.  He enjoyed his family and the traditions they established, such as making scrapelle (a family favorite dish), attending Sunday Mass followed by breakfast, and weekly pizza night.

God blessed Al with a second chance at love when he delivered a belated birthday card to Eleanor Shulsky.  They enjoyed almost six wonderful years of life together traveling, attending plays and concerts and visiting casinos.  Through his marriage, his family increased by four stepchildren -- Laura (Mike) Jordan, Jon (Cindy) Shulsky, Tom Shulsky, and Joe (Debbie) Shulsky.  There are also nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Eleanor (DeSantis) DiLuciano, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and step family.  He is also survived by his brother, Gabriel DiLuciano; brother-in-law, Dominic DeAngelis; and sister-in-law, Francis DiLuciano.

His wife Marie (Sofia) DiLuciano, preceded him in death along with his infant daughter Cynthia, his parents, brothers Serafin (Angela) DiLuciano and Ferdinand DiLuciano; and sisters, Victoria DeAngelis and Antoinette Mullins; and sister-in-law, Connie DiLuciano.

The family deeply appreciates the help and care provided by Hospice of the Western Reserve.  Their support, caring and dedication helped them cope during this very difficult time.
